Al haram? Haram means forbidden. Maybe it means forbidden because it contains the word Ra which is the name of the ancient sun god of egypt. Also, al Lah means moon god, worshipped in ancient times in mecca area.ahram is the egyptian word for pyramid. The place built in reverence to the. Sun, reaching high, high into the sky towards the sun,as high as was possible.

  1. sorry the write that this is not actual interpretatin of word HARAM. you have taken this word in very basic sence. here HARAM means Hurmat (in urdu) and Sacred (in english). But forbidden is not translaion is not this word.

    • Dear brother, on the internet there is quite a discussion on the meaning, by muslims between themselves. AHRAM may be the actual word,which is the word for pyramids in egypt.
